The Role
We are looking for an experienced Inventory Controller to maintain and improve inventory accuracy across all our locations. Ideal candidates will have retail stock control experience and a strong understanding of retail operations and inventory management principles. This is a new role in the company and the new candidate will report to the operations team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage stock control systems, ensuring processes are followed consistently across stores.
- Plan, organise, and lead annual stock takes for all supermarket branches to ensure accuracy and efficient execution.
- Visit stores on a regular basis and carry out on-the-spot stock checks.
- Monitor discrepancies in stock, investigate root causes, and take action to reduce shrinkage and improve accuracy.
- Work on loss-prevention initiatives, including identifying high-risk areas and helping stores minimise theft and wastage.
- Work closely with departments, key stakeholders and 3rd party partners to ensure optimal stock levels.
- Provide regular stock reports, highlighting trends, issues, and recommended improvements.
- Train store teams on best practices for stock handling, back-of-house organisation, and system usage.
- Help maintain compliance with company procedures and quality standards
Requirements
- Previous experience in retail stock control is essential.
- Strong understanding of stock management systems, stock-taking processes, and supermarket operational flow.
- Proficiency with inventory management software and MS Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to analyse stock data and identify issues quickly.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple stores and departments.
- Strong training skills to provide training to store colleagues.
- Although this is a head office based role, regular travel across our sites is required transport is reimbursable).
- Flexibility in schedule, stock takes may happen in early or late hours.
Salary
- £27,000-£30,000
